Mineralogically, this material is a form of serpentine containing aligned chrysotile fibers; the structure responsible for its signature optical movement. Colors range from warm gold and root beer tones to silvery flashes and deep green-brown hues, each piece offering a unique interplay of light and texture.

Sourced from a remote and rugged region of Arizona, this material was first identified for lapidary use in the 1950s. It is known among cutters for being technically challenging, requiring skill and precision to fully reveal its internal character.
